The new Southern Georgetown Community Library has its certificate of occupancy - and a bevy of new books - and will open its doors on Wednesday, March 24. Library staff and the many volunteers who helped steer the building into being couldn't be happier. It is exactly two years since the groundbreaking was held for the facility, but decades since community members began talking about their desire for a library.
The new facility is at 4187 Powell Road in the Santee community, and its hours will be:
Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday: 10 am - 2 pm
Fridays, 1 pm - 5 pm
Southern Georgetown Branch Manager Sharea Drayton has been ensuring that everything is up and running, and says she can't wait to show visitors around the beautiful new facility. Please note: COVID measures are still in place, so masks are required. Due to the recent county hacking incident, computers and Internet are not yet available for use.
