  1. "The Spirit of the Flowers" photography exhibit

    Tatyana Gluzberg is the featured photographer at the Waccamaw Library for the months of May and June 2021. Her exhibit, "The Spirit of the Flowers" will be on display at the library during that time. Having dedicated 35 years of her life to a medical careers as a physician and 8 years to the U.S. Army, where she retired as a Major, Gluzberg never thought she would one day become an artist. Yet she discovered solace and healing power in the beauty of flowers that she recorded through her photographic art.

  2. Storytime: Tails from SC Cares

    For older children and adults, author Cindy Hedrick will read tales from her children’s book, Tails from SC CARES (Class Publishing, 2021) during weekly video storytimes. The book is based on Hedrick’s experience running SC CARES (SC Coastal Animal Rescue & Educational Sanctuary) for thirteen years, caring for exotic animals, farm animals, and non-releasable wildlife. SC CARES typically provided sanctuary to nearly 200 animals at a given time, and Hedrick recounts the most compelling and heartwarming of these wonderful rescues. For animal lovers of all ages, this video series is a must-see.
