The Georgetown County Library system invites families across the county to join the fun this summer at their local library branch. The 2025 Summer Reading Program launches this week with the theme "Color Our World." The program runs through June and July at all five library branches: Andrews, Carvers Bay, Georgetown, Southern Georgetown and Waccamaw.
Each branch is offering a unique lineup of hands-on activities including:
- Arts and crafts
- Scavenger hunts
- Storytimes
- Nature walks
- Healthy eating lessons
- And plenty of great books!
These weekly programs are designed to spark creativity, encourage reading and help kids make new connections—all in a safe and welcoming space. Adults can get involved too, with Digital Health Literacy sessions, Bingo and plenty more available.
Whether your child is a seasoned reader or just getting started, there’s something for everyone. For branch-specific schedules, contact your local branch.
