Wildfires at Prince George and North Santee have been declared contained and the evacuation order at Prince George Beach-Side has been lifted. No structures were damaged. Firefighters will remain on site overnight.
Staff on scene at North Santee estimate about 800 acres were impacted, but an official number will be determined by the Forestry Service at a later time.
Residents in the vicinity of the impacted areas are advised to remain vigilant as conditions can change rapidly.
A burn ban remains in effect in Georgetown County. All outdoor burning is prohibited until further notice.
